Aug 15, 2023

The German concern Rheinmetall has confirmed plans to supply Ukraine with state-of-the-art Luna NG reconnaissance drones.

According to Yevropeiska Pravda, the company announced this on its website.

The report says that the new generation Luna NG reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle with short-range air support will soon begin operating in Ukraine.

It is noted that the concern will supply the systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces on behalf of Germany in 2023.

The "drone package" consists of a ground control station with several drones, a launching catapult, and military trucks.

The new Luna from Rheinmetall is a newly developed unmanned system that surpasses the previous model in all important performance characteristics. In addition to being used as a reconnaissance system, drones can also provide LTE network coverage and intercept or jam communications.

Drones play an important role in the war in Ukraine. Russia has been massively attacking military and civilian targets with Iranian kamikaze drones. But reconnaissance drones are also important for Ukraine's military operations. Operational experience shows that real-time intelligence results play a crucial role in operations.
