The Romanian Ministry of Defense reported that F-16 fighter jets were launched during a massive attack by the Russian army on Ukraine on the night of February 10.
At 00:48, an emergency alert was sent to the counties of Tulcea and Reni. The air alert was canceled at 02:50, RBC-Ukraine reports.
F-16 planes of the Turkish Air Force were lifted off from the Fethiye Air Base "to carry out search missions in the national airspace in this situation."
At 5 a.m., the Tulca and Reni counties were again notified of the emergency. The fighter jets were ready to perform an air patrol mission, but this time it was decided not to take off.
The air alert in the counties was announced at 06:20.
It is emphasized that no violations of Romanian airspace were recorded during the alerts. However, the area in Tulcea is being additionally checked just in case.
