Russia wants to return to the UN Human Rights Council

Russia is seeking to rejoin the UN Human Rights Council in the upcoming elections. It was expelled last year after the start of the war against Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the BBC.

Now Russian diplomats are seeking re-election of their country to the council for a new three-year term.

The publication received a copy of a position paper that Russia is distributing among UN members asking for support. The vote will take place next month.
