A large-scale fire broke out in Odesa after Russia shelled the port infrastructure. The fire released almost 16 tons of carbon dioxide into the air.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Southwestern District.
As a result of shelling of Odesa's port infrastructure, a fire broke out on October 20, covering an area of 200 square meters. As a result, almost 16 tons of carbon dioxide, a substance that is one of the main factors of climate change, were released into the atmosphere.
The State Environmental Inspectorate reports that information about the incident was passed to the Inspectorate's Operational Headquarters to be included in the register of environmental damage caused by the war. Environmentalists emphasize that the nature of the Odesa region continues to suffer serious damage due to Russia's military actions.
