State Department explains how US support will help Ukraine win the war

Washington believes that Russia's war against Ukraine does not have the kind of weapons that would be decisive and help Kyiv win. Instead, a set of measures that the United States continues to work on can do this.

This was stated by US Department of State spokesman Matthew Miller, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing his briefing in Washington.

During a conversation with American journalists, the official answered questions about long-range missiles from the United States, the use of which Ukraine is asking to lift restrictions.

He confirmed that the US and British sides will continue discussions on this issue during the United Nations General Assembly next week.

The State Department spokesman also reiterated the US position that “there is no one capability that is ultimately a magic wand in itself that will be decisive in this conflict.”

“There are a number of different capabilities that together can help Ukraine win this war, and that's what we continue to provide them,” Miller said.

He added that the United States continues to assess whether there are “additional capabilities, additional tactics, additional methods that we should be providing to them (Ukrainians - Ed.).”

“And when we assess that it's in their interests and the interests of the United States, we will do so,” the State Department spokesman emphasized.

And when asked how Washington expects Ukraine to win a large-scale war with Russia, Miller spoke about a set of measures in the context of US assistance.

“We expect them to win by continuing to provide them with the billions of dollars of security assistance that we have provided them since the beginning of this conflict. The kind of security assistance that, along with the brave Ukrainian fighting, has led them to take back most of the territory that they lost in Ukraine in the early days of the war,” the American official said.
