The AFU destroyed a Russian helicopter with a Javelin anti-tank system
The speaker of the Defense Forces of the Tavrian direction Valery Hershen told about the details of the shooting down of the Russian attack helicopter Ka-52 with the Javelin anti-tank system in the Berdyansk direction. He said this on the air on Radio Svoboda.
According to him, the enemy helicopter was shot down by a fighter with the call sign "Mayak" - he is the commander of the mobile unit of anti-tank troops of the 36th separate brigade of marines. This is the first destruction of an aerial target with a Javelin missile defense system during the war because the system is designed to work against ground targets.
He noted that on July 2 in the Berdyansk direction the Ka-52 "Alligator" was moving at the lowest altitude, hiding from the air defense systems. The calculation officer spotted the target, aimed it with a Javelin, and fired an effective shot.
The Hornet said that earlier the warrior had personally destroyed five Russian armored vehicles near Avdeevka. He also had other targets destroyed during the war.
