The only way to end the war is to defeat the aggressor

The only possible way to stop the war unleashed by Russia and achieve a just peace is to defeat the aggressor on the battlefield.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, this was stated by the First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna Danylo Kubay during a meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation.

"Ukraine remains convinced that the only possible way to stop the war is to defeat the aggressor state on the battlefield. Any other actions will not be able to bring the just and stable peace we all need now," he said.

The Ukrainian diplomat noted: "Against the backdrop of all the atrocities that Russian troops continue to commit in Ukraine and the continuous violations of international law, it is simply impossible to negotiate with the Russian leadership until they stop their aggression and leave the territory of Ukraine within internationally recognized borders."

Kubay emphasized that Russia's aggression has left millions of Ukrainians with no choice but to fight. "And we remain unwavering in our commitment to restoring Ukraine's full sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, including the territories that Russia attempted to annex in Crimea, Donbas, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions," the diplomat said.

In his speech, the representative of the Ukrainian mission to the OSCE informed the delegations of the participating states about Russia's recent missile attacks on peaceful cities and civilian infrastructure.

"There should be no doubt that the Russian Federation's persistent attempts to destroy Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities will fail. Despite all the difficulties, the Ukrainian people, with their indomitable spirit and determination, remain committed to defending the sovereignty of their country. None of Russia's cowardly attacks will change that," Kubay emphasized.
