The mission of the United Nations Organization will come to Nagorno-Karabakh already this weekend. She will visit there for the first time in the last 30 years.
This was stated by the spokesman of the UN Secretary General Stefan Dujarrik, reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to Reuters.
"While there, the team will seek to assess the situation on the ground and determine the humanitarian needs of both the people who remained and the displaced, calling on everyone to observe international law. The main focus will be on humanitarian issues, as well as protection issues," Dujarric said.
According to him, the visit will allow UN representatives to familiarize themselves with the current humanitarian activities of Azerbaijan in the region.
The members of the mission will also be shown the process of restoration of some infrastructure facilities, disarmament, and confiscation of ammunition from illegal armed groups of Armenia.
