The United States responded to Russia: Ukraine chooses its own targets
In the United States, in response to Russian propaganda's accusations of "direct participation" of Washington in the strikes on occupied Crimea over the weekend, the United States reminded that it is Ukraine that decides which targets to hit with Western weapons.
This was reported by Reuters.
Pentagon spokesman Major Charlie Dietz said that Ukraine "makes its own decisions on targeting and conducts its own military operations."
A representative of the White House National Security Council, commenting on the strike on Crimea, said that any civilian deaths are a tragedy.
"This certainly applies to the thousands of innocent Ukrainians who have been killed by Russian forces since the beginning of Russian aggression," he added.
