The first batch of Abrams tanks provided by the United States to Ukraine was approved for shipment over the weekend, and the tanks will arrive in Ukraine in early fall.
Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition Douglas Bush told reporters at a briefing on Monday, CNN reports.
According to the Pentagon official, the first Abrams tanks are "ready" for shipment to Ukraine.
"Now they have to get to Europe, and then to Ukraine, along with everything that goes with them. Ammunition, spare parts, fuel equipment, and repair facilities. So it's not just tanks, it's a complete package that goes with them. It's still in the process," he explained.
