The White House: Ukraine's counteroffensive is not stalled

Jul 27, 2023

The White House said that the Ukrainian counteroffensive is moving more slowly than planned, but it has not stalled.

John Kirby, the White House National Security Council's coordinator for strategic communications, said this at a briefing, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.

According to him, Ukraine itself has recognized that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not moving "as far and as fast as we would like".

"Nevertheless, they are moving. This is not a stalemate, they are not frozen," Kirby emphasized.

He noted that the United States had provided the Ukrainians with "everything they asked for" before the counteroffensive and continued to do so throughout the operations.

"They got everything they asked for and they continue to get everything they asked for now. I recognize that they want more. And we talked about F-16s - training will start soon and hopefully, the actual aircraft will follow. But they have tanks. They have artillery. They have HIMARS. And we will continue to work with them every day to try to meet their needs as best we can," Kirby added.
