Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained when Ukraine will be able to conclude a bilateral agreement with Hungary. He stressed the importance of the NATO clause.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to his statement during a press conference.
Zelenskyy stressed that the bilateral document contains not only what one side wants, but what is important for the security of the present and the future.
‘Both sides. For us, it is important to support Ukraine in the EU, Hungary's support for Ukraine in NATO. The document today does not contain Hungary's support for Ukraine in NATO. Since there is no such support, this document has not been signed. That's the end of it,’ he stressed.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine explained that if Ukraine and Hungary respect each other, there should be no questions.
‘Ukraine supports Hungary's membership in the EU and NATO. This is my attitude towards you. If you ask me about any question about Ukraine's attitude towards Hungary, you will get a quick answer. We are ready to do anything to ensure that there are no issues between us. But if the Hungarian side has questions on any Ukrainian issue, I think it's not right.-
It can't be like that. A bilateral agreement is about respect. And about whether you see me as an equal,’ Zelenskyy concluded.
