On Tuesday, 10 September, the long-awaited debate between US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris took place. The Republican's allies believe that he lost.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to CNN.

It is noted that as soon as Trump left the stage, he immediately began to ask those who were waiting for him in the viewing room about how the last 90 minutes had gone. Some praised him to his face, saying he had done a ‘great job,’ but this is not what many of them said privately.

Instead, people around Trump said what happened on stage was a draw at best and a loss at worst. Some were stunned that the former US president was unable to better implement the points he had prepared against Vice President Harris. In particular, against her record and policy reversals.

According to two CNN sources, Trump prepared for the debate with Harris more than he did for the debate with US President Joe Biden this summer. At the same time, he did not put forward one of the most important arguments against the vice president - why she has not fulfilled the promises she is making now in 3.5 years in power. This surprised many who had heard Trump make this argument privately and during the campaign.

In addition, one of the Republican's team members admitted that the former president took the bait every time Harris offered it.

CNN writes that although numerous Trump allies described what happened as a ‘missed opportunity’, they have since begun to downplay the overall significance of the debate. People close to the Republican claim that the outcome of the debate in Pennsylvania will not change his rating.
