Ukraine has built and is developing a reliable air defense system

Ukraine, with the help of its NATO partners, has already managed to build a reliable air defense system and considers its further development to be its number one priority.
This was stated today during a meeting with journalists following a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission by Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
This is how the military leader answered the question of an Ukrinform correspondent about how far Ukraine is still from the goal of developing a multi-level air defense system.
"We are not far from this goal. We have already built it (the air defense system - ed.), and now we are developing it. We have the most advanced Patriot, NASAMS IRIS-T, and SAMP/T systems in the world. The next level is other systems, such as Krotali, and Cheetah, as well as Soviet systems that we still have, and up to hand-held man-portable air defense systems, i.e., systems of different ranges. The very fact that we are creating an aircraft coalition, which begins with training, but we already know for sure that we will have aircraft as part of air defense, indicates that this system continues to develop," said Oleksiy Reznikov.
He said that today, during meetings in Brussels, the partner countries made further commitments to continue providing Ukraine with the necessary missiles and launch systems.
"This month, or in the next few months, we will be able to receive the first Hawk systems, which we have not yet had, and the appropriate equipment and missiles for them. So, our air defense is developing. Today I reiterated to our partners that air defense is the first priority. Our task is to ensure that our children grow up and study under peaceful skies. Therefore, we need to develop an air defense system. In fact, today, if not every minister of defense, then every other minister of defense spoke about it - about continuing to provide Ukraine with missiles and air defense systems," the Minister of Defense of Ukraine emphasized.-
