Ukraine needs more air defense for the sea corridor

However, Ukraine needs the help of its allies to ensure the smooth functioning of grain corridors and exports. According to Marchuk, air defense systems are critical to neutralizing enemy drones and missiles that threaten port infrastructure.

"Weapons are very important for us, because with what we received, we really demonstrated our readiness not only to ensure parity, but also to show our greater power and strength in the Black Sea. And if we also provide air defense systems to shoot down as many of these "shaheds" and missiles as possible that will be directed at port infrastructure, we will guarantee the safety of ships and crews, and, accordingly, commercial ships will not be afraid to enter Ukraine. Because the safety of the crew and the property that comes in today in the form of large ships is very expensive.
Accordingly, we need to guarantee everything on our part by taking responsibility in the form of insurance. Ukrainian banks have assumed such responsibility and thus demonstrated guarantees that, in case of damage to ships in Ukrainian internal waters, they will be reimbursed for the losses they suffer as a result of Russian attacks. But in general, we really need partners to guarantee this, and we are grateful to both Romania and Turkey for guaranteeing the passage of ships," he said.
