By the end of 2024, Ukraine will receive another batch of F-16 fighters from Denmark. The exact date and number of aircraft in the new delivery remain classified for operational security reasons.
This was stated by Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, RBC-Ukraine reports citing DR.
According to the minister, the first aircraft was handed over to Ukraine in August, and Denmark has pledged to supply 19 fighters in total.
‘Another F-16 will be delivered in the second half of 2024,’ Poulsen confirmed.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is one of the most mass-produced and successful fourth-generation multi-role fighters. Developed in the United States, it has been adopted by many countries around the world, including Italy.
The F-16 is highly manoeuvrable, which allows it to effectively conduct air combat. In addition, it can carry a wide range of weapons, including air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, bombs and containers with unguided missiles.
Due to its versatility, the F-16 is used not only to gain air superiority, but also for strikes against ground targets, reconnaissance and other missions. Its reliability and efficiency have made the F-16 one of the most popular fighter aircraft in the world.
