The United States has provided Ukraine with AIM-7 Sparrow self-guided missiles as part of a regular military aid package.
This was reported with reference to the Pentagon press service.
The AIM-7 Sparrow is an American air-to-air missile. It has a medium range and a semi-active homing radar head. The missile entered service with the U.S. Army in 1956. By 2023, it had undergone a significant number of modernizations. The United States also has an anti-aircraft variant of the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow ship-launched missile.
It is worth noting that in January of this year, Ukraine received ship-launched RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missiles. The Ukrainian military managed to adapt Soviet-made Buk systems for them.
