Umerov and Syrsky met with the Bundeswehr Inspector General

Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov and the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, met with the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) Carsten Breuer in Kyiv. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

During the meeting, Syrsky informed his German counterpart about the situation on the front line and thanked Germany for its contribution to strengthening the Ukrainian army.

The parties also discussed the Armed Forces' needs for weapons, ammunition and air defense systems.

"We are focused on fruitful cooperation, effective communication and real-time exchange of experience," Umerov said.

Umerov held his first working meeting with Syrskyi after the latter's appointment as chief of the Armed Forces: they discussed a detailed plan for the Armed Forces for 2024.
