UN extends payments to Ukrainian pensioners until the end of the year

Jun 22, 2024

The United Nations World Food Program in Ukraine has extended the term of the project to provide additional payments to pensioners living in the territories of active or possible hostilities until December 2024.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy.

"We understand that it is not easy to live on a small pension, especially in areas close to the war zone, and that additional assistance is urgently needed. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are pleased to extend our cash support to pensioners until the end of the year," said Marianne Ward, WFP Ukraine's Acting Resident Representative.

The additional cash assistance is provided to pensioners who receive a pension of less than UAH 3,250 and live in the areas of active or possible hostilities and have not received additional cash payments from international organizations and/or accommodation assistance for internally displaced persons after March 1, 2023.

No special application for additional payments is required. WFP sends funds to pensioners based on information already available in the Pension Fund's databases. The payments are made either to a bank card or through Ukrposhta offices (for pensioners who receive their pensions through Ukrposhta).
