The joint statement of the countries, published on the sidelines of the NATO summit, says that Tomahawks will be deployed in Germany to strengthen deterrence and protect its NATO partners.

The United States mostly deploys them on ships and submarines. With a speed of less than 900 kilometers per hour, they are relatively slow and have a very low altitude.

In the past, the United States has used Tomahawks to attack targets in Iraq and Afghanistan, among others.
