US to sell $360 million worth of drones and missiles to Taiwan
The United States has approved a $360 million sale of missiles and drones to Taiwan. This should increase the island's security.
This was stated by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Reuters.
It is noted that the US State Department has approved the sale of drones and missiles to Taiwan for approximately $360 million.
It is emphasized that Washington is legally obliged to provide Taiwan with self-defense, despite the lack of official diplomatic relations, which causes constant anger in Beijing.
At the same time, China has been increasing military pressure on Taiwan, including organizing military exercises around the island last month after Lai Tsing-jeou's inauguration as president.
The Pentagon said the sale would help improve the security of the recipient and help maintain political stability, military balance, and economic progress in the region.
