Washington advises Moscow to stop interfering in the US presidential election. The White House has criticized Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's public discussions about the Kremlin's support for certain candidates.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by John Kirby, the National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator, at a briefing in Washington.
The White House spokesman was speaking to journalists when asked to comment on the Kremlin leader's words that he prefers Vice President Kamala Harris in the election race.
In response, Kirby emphasized that Putin “should stop talking about our election, period.”
“He should not favor anyone one way or the other. The only people who should be determining who the next president of the United States is are the American people,” he said.
Kirby also added that the American side would be “very grateful” if Putin “A: stopped talking about our elections, and B: stopped interfering in them.”
