Today, much depends on Vladimir Putin to end the war. But even more depends on the United States, as the Russian dictator is weaker than Donald Trump and America.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing his interview with Fox News.
In particular, the journalist asked the head of state whether Putin is the one who can make a decision and end the war in Ukraine. Zelensky answered that this is true, but the role of the United States is even greater, as the Kremlin leader is weaker than America.
“I am sure that today it depends on Putin, a lot. He can do it. He may want to end this war. But it also depends on the United States of America, much more. Putin is weaker than the United States,” the president said.
The head of the Ukrainian state argued that the American leader has power, authority, weapons, and he can reduce the price of energy. Speaking about the latter factor, Zelenskyy called on US President-elect Donald Trump, who will officially take office in two months, on January 20, 2025.
“By the way, I heard a signal in the media from President Trump that he is thinking of reducing energy prices, oil prices, and this needs to be done,” Zelenskyy said.-
The journalist then asked the president if he had any hope that Trump would be able to influence Putin to end the war. The head of state partially reiterated this and said that it would not be easy, but the newly elected president and the United States are stronger than Vladimir Putin.
“It won't be easy, but I think that if we use all the opportunities that the United States has, then yes, he will be able to do it, because he is much stronger than Putin. He is stronger, the United States is stronger, the economy is stronger, money, big money, the United States has a huge, very huge influence,” Zelenskyy summarized.-
