“I'm pleased to announce that the great Elon Musk, working alongside American patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE),” the winner of the presidential election wrote.

Trump added that together, “these two great Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, cut excessive regulations, reduce wasteful spending, and restructure federal agencies - essential to the ‘Save America’ movement.

“This will send a shockwave through the entire system, and everyone involved in the system and everyone involved in government waste, and that's a lot of people!” Elon Musk said.

The report also notes that “the new department will become a potential ‘Manhattan Project’ of our time.”

“The Office of Government Effectiveness will provide advice and guidance from outside the government, and will work with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to implement wide-ranging structural reforms and create an entrepreneurial approach to government that has never been seen before,” the statement said.

Trump added that the new Department “must displace the massive waste and fraud that exists throughout our $6.5 trillion in annual government spending.”

The work of Musk and Ramaswamy, according to Trump, should be completed no later than July 4, 2026.

“A smaller government, with more efficiency and less bureaucracy, would be the perfect gift for America on the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence,” the US president-elect added.
