NATO is strengthening its air defense in the Black Sea. Currently, the allies are adopting hundreds of fifth-generation combat aircraft.
According to RBC-Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said this during a joint press conference with Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
Rutte noted that Russia's war against Ukraine has emphasized the need for strong air defense. This remains one of the key priorities of the Alliance.
“That's why today we also talked about how Allies are working together to secure Romania's airspace. Repeated incursions by Russian drones and missiles into NATO airspace are reckless, dangerous and unacceptable,” he stressed.
According to the Secretary General, NATO has already strengthened air defense on its eastern flank. Currently, the allies are adopting hundreds of fifth-generation combat aircraft.
“NATO takes the security of the Black Sea region very seriously. We stand ready to assist, protect and defend every Ally,” Rutte emphasized.-
