According to Magdalena Koscinska, a spokeswoman for the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division, the first tanks of the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem were delivered to the 9th Braniew Armored Cavalry Brigade.

“Later, these tanks will be equipped with systems used in the Polish army, including communications equipment,” the spokeswoman said.

According to her, at the first stage, the brigade received seven tanks. The rest of the units are expected by the end of the year. The unit currently has eight trained crews.

It should be added that the military unit that received the K2 tanks is located in the town of Branevo, a few kilometers from the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.

K2 Black Panther tanks are one of the most advanced tanks in the world. They have high mobility and can quickly maneuver in difficult terrain, such as mud or sandy soils. The tanks are equipped with precision guidance and fire systems, a 1500 horsepower diesel engine with an automatic transmission.

The K2 tank is relatively light, weighing 55 tons. It has a hydropneumatic suspension.
