This happened during the capture of Ukrainian positions near Klishchiyivka. The moment of the murder was captured on a video filmed by a Russian drone. It was posted on the Internet on February 9, the Prosecutor General's Office said.

The video from the enemy drone also shows the commander of one of the units of the aggressor state's army probably giving an order not to take the enemy prisoner during the storming of the Ukrainian army trenches.

The killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime.

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reminded that over the past few months, several videos of Russian soldiers executing Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered have been posted online. Ukrainian law enforcement officers also recorded the use of Ukrainian prisoners of war as human shields on the contact line.
