Stoltenberg announces NATO-Ukraine Council meeting on 19 April

A meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council will take place on Friday, 19 April, at the request of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and will focus on Kyiv's urgent need for weapons.

This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference in Brussels on 17 April after a meeting with the prime ministers of the Netherlands, Denmark, and the Czech Republic, Yevropeiska Pravda reports.

"President Zelenskyy has requested a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council. We will hold a meeting on Friday," Stoltenberg said.

According to him, the NATO-Ukraine Council will be held at the level of defense ministers "to discuss the urgent need for greater support for Ukraine", and will also be attended by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"In particular, I expect discussions on air defense, as well as artillery shells, in continuation of the Czech initiative, which was supported by the Netherlands and Denmark," the NATO Secretary General added.
