Nov 8, 2024

Ukraine has developed the idea of creating a ‘humanitarian shield’ along its western border. This requires the support of Eastern European countries.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a speech by Deputy Defence Minister Serhiy Boyev at a meeting of the Council of Defence Ministers of Southeast Europe.

Boev reminded that North Korean soldiers have already been deployed to the territory near the Ukrainian border. And now it is important to have a quick response from our partners. In particular, everything possible must be done to break off cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.

The Deputy Minister of Defence also mentioned the victory plan of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and, in particular, the second paragraph of the document, which contains a clear list of weapons needed by the Armed Forces.

Boev also raised the issue of strengthening Ukraine's air defence in cooperation with partner countries.

‘Earlier, we presented the idea of creating a ‘Humanitarian Shield’ along Ukraine's western border and hope that this initiative will be implemented,’ the official said.

He also called on the countries of Southeast Europe to provide Ukraine with Soviet-style weapons from their reserves, as they could have an immediate effect on the battlefield.
