Zelensky talked to Trump

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Donald Trump. The Ukrainian leader noted that their conversation was excellent and they have an agreement.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the president's post on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

“Had a great phone conversation with President Trump and congratulated him on his historic and convincing victory - a result made possible by his impressive election campaign. I thanked his family and team for their excellent work,” the president said.

Zelenskyy added that he and Trump had agreed to maintain a close dialogue and “develop our cooperation” between the two countries.

“Strong and unwavering US leadership is vital for the world and for a just peace,” the head of state added.

As a reminder, about two months ago, Trump said that literally the very night he learned of his victory, he would call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, after which “we will conclude a deal within 24 hours.” This was about ending the war in Ukraine in one day, as Trump had repeatedly said during his election campaign.
