Biden visited a doctor and he assured him that the US president was fine
United States President Joe Biden visited a doctor after his unsuccessful debate performance last week and received a clean bill of health.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The Hill.
White House spokesman Andrew Bates confirmed to the publication that Biden went to the doctor a few days after last week's debate to check his cold, and he is now "recovering well."
Biden's team said that the cold hampered the president during the debate, during which he spoke in a quiet, hoarse voice and struggled to tie ideas together or refute numerous false claims made by former President Donald Trump. His speech raised concerns among some Democrats about the president's ability to run for a second term.
On Wednesday, July 3, White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre added that Biden still had a "lingering cold" but was generally feeling well, saying he was "ready to go." However, after meeting with Biden, the governors said they were reassured by his campaign and fully support him.
The president argued that voters should not be swayed by his debate performance, but instead look to his long record of accomplishments.
"I did not have a good debate. It's 90 minutes on stage. Look at what I've done in 3.5 years," Biden said.
