On Monday, December 5, the Russian occupiers carried out the 8th massive shelling of Ukraine. The attacks damaged energy infrastructure and injured civilians.
The fact of new missile launches in Ukraine during the air alert, which was announced throughout the whole country, was first confirmed by the head of the Odesa regional administration Maksym Marchenko, and the head of the Mykolayiv regional administration Vitaly Kim, Ukrainian mass media report.
Destructions
Ukrenergo reported that as a result of today's attacks by the Russians, Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities were damaged. Because of this, emergency blackouts had to be applied.
There were also problems with power supply in the Sumy, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv regions, and Kryvyi Rih. Emergency shutdowns have been applied there to prevent accidents that may occur due to occupant strikes.
In Odesa, as a result of massive shelling, all consumers were left without a water supply. This is reported by the press service of the water supply company. "Now all the pumping stations and reserve lines are de-energized. Therefore, there is no water supply everywhere to our consumers", - the message says.
Casualties
In the Zaporizhzhia region, several houses were destroyed; there are victims: two dead and three injured, according to the Office of the President. A little child is among those injured. An ambulance and State Emergencies Service employees are working at the site.
In the Odesa region, one person was hospitalized because of the shelling.
Russian missiles
The Kyiv city military administration said that ten missiles were detected in the airspace of the capital. According to preliminary information, nine were destroyed by the air defense forces.
At the same time, according to Valentyn Reznichenko, head of the local Air Defense Command, 15 enemy missiles were shot down in the area of responsibility of the Air Command “East”.
In the Poltava region, the Ukrainian military managed to destroy up to 10 missiles.
At the same time, the total number of missiles that were fired at Ukraine is still unknown.
Also, according to the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs, one of the Russian missiles fell on Moldovan territory.
