Iran has expressed its dissatisfaction with the new EU and UK sanctions against Tehran and denies supplying ballistic missiles to Russia.
This was stated by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the ministry's website.
On October 14, the European Union approved sanctions against seven individuals and seven organizations, including Iran Air, for their involvement in Iran's supply of ballistic missiles to Russia.
The list also includes Saha Airlines and Mahan Air, as well as Iran's Deputy Defense Minister Seyyed Hamza Ghalandari.
At the same time, the United Kingdom added nine new sanctions to its sanctions regime against Iran.
Last month, the United States, citing intelligence shared with its allies, said that Russia had received ballistic missiles from Iran for the war against Ukraine.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson denied that ballistic missiles had been delivered to Russia.
“Unfortunately, some European countries and the United Kingdom have stated without evidence that Iran has intervened in this conflict militarily, which is completely refuted,” Baghai said, referring to Russia's war against Ukraine.
Baghai said that the imposition of new sanctions by the European Union and the United Kingdom on Iranian individuals and organizations allegedly contradicts international law.
