The European Union Training Mission (EUMAM), which provides training for the Ukrainian military, will be extended for another two years.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell during a press conference after a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.
According to him, Ukrainian troops are currently “under great pressure along the entire front line,” which has become greater than before the beginning of summer.
“We must provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with more capabilities and increase our training mission. We will extend the mandate of EUMAM for the next two years,” Borrell said.
He added that he hopes for a consensus on this decision in the EU Council.
