Britain imposes sanctions on Iran over missile attack on Israel

The United Kingdom has imposed new sanctions on people and companies associated with Iran's missile program. The sanctions are a response to Iran's attack on Israel on October 1 this year.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the British government.

The sanctions were imposed on the Iranian Space Agency. It is engaged in the development of space launch vehicle technology used in the development of ballistic missiles, and the Design Bureau (FPSDB), which designs and manufactures various propulsion systems.

The sanctions list includes seven high-ranking officials from Iran's army, air force, and two organizations involved in ballistic and cruise missile development.

They are:

  • Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces Abdolrahim Mousavi and his deputy Mohammad-Hossein Dadras;
  • Commander of the Iranian Air Force Hamid Vahed;
  • Intelligence Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Kazemi;
  • Chief of the Joint Staff of the Iranian Army, Deputy Chief for Coordination of the Iranian Army Habibollah Sayyari;
  • IRGC spokesman Ali Mohammad Naeini;
  • Chief Engineer of the Farzanegan Power Systems Design Bureau Hussein Pourfarzaneh.
