The publication, citing European diplomats, notes that on Monday, October 14, EU foreign ministers agreed on sanctions at a meeting in Luxembourg.

The EU has previously warned Iran several times against transferring ballistic missiles to Russia. Tehran, meanwhile, denies supplying missiles to Moscow.

Before the meeting in Luxembourg, German Minister for European Affairs Anna Luhrmann said that there was very clear evidence that Iran had transferred ballistic missiles, and “this is clearly incompatible with peace commitments.”

“We want Ukrainians to have the right to decide their own future. Therefore, Russia should not be supported militarily,” she said.

It is not yet known who is on the sanctions list. The names will soon be published in the EU's official journal. As part of the sanctions, European businesses will not be allowed to do business with companies and people against whom restrictions have been imposed. The sanctions also include the freezing of accounts and assets, as well as a ban on entry to the EU.
