Ukrainian pilots and engineers continue training with F-16 fighters. The pilots are already practicing tactical techniques, i.e., actually striking targets.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, during a telethon.

"The transition to the F-16 cannot be quick, no matter how much we want it to be. As it is, about six months is the shortest possible time to retrain both flight crew and ground personnel. In general, the minimal training program for the F-16 is two years. Ukraine is doing everything possible to ensure that this aircraft appears in our skies as soon as possible and performs its tasks," he said.

According to Ihnat, the pilots are still in the process of training, and practicing tactical techniques.

"They are practicing strikes on air and ground targets. This is very, very necessary. Because it is not only necessary to fly and control the airspace. It is necessary to fight on them. And these are the things our pilots are practicing now," the spokesman explained.

He added that aviation engineers also continue training in aircraft and weapons maintenance, programming, and precision strikes.

"All this training is needed to ensure that the aircraft operates as efficiently as possible in the sky, destroying air, ground and sea targets. Ukraine is adapting the infrastructure at certain sites so that these aircraft can be used from our airfields," Ihnat emphasized.

As a reminder, Ukraine's allies have previously announced the creation of an aviation coalition to provide Ukraine with modern F-16 fighters. The coalition was led by the Netherlands and Denmark.
