U.S. President Joe Biden told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy before the bilateral meeting that he was looking forward to the day of Ukraine's official accession to NATO.
This was reported by a correspondent of the European Pravda.
"I hope that we have finally put an end to the idea of whether they want to see Ukraine in NATO or not. It will happen. We are moving forward, we are moving in the right direction," the US president said.
He noted that Ukraine has done a great job, but much remains to be done.
"And I think we will make sure that you get everything you need. And I look forward to the day when we have a meeting to celebrate your official membership in NATO," Biden said on Wednesday.
"The bad news for you is that we're not going anywhere. You are stuck with us. We're not going anywhere," he added.
