Biden signs record defense budget with $800 million for Ukraine

U.S. President Joe Biden has signed the defense budget of the United States for the next year with a record $858 billion, which includes funds for military assistance to Ukraine.

According to European Pravda, the White House said.

"On Friday, December 23, 2022, the president signed H.R. 7776, the 'National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023,' which approves appropriations for the fiscal year 2023 primarily for Department of Defense and Military Construction programs, Department of Energy national security programs, and intelligence programs; defines increases in basic military pay and other authorities related to the U.S. Armed Forces; approves appropriations to the State Department, Department of Homeland Security".

The defense budget includes 45 billion more than President Joe Biden initially proposed. The budget includes salary increases for the U.S. military, funding for weapons purchases, support for Taiwan, which is threatened by China, and $800 million of military support for Ukraine to repel Russian aggression.
