The European Commission on Friday, April 21, will inform the ambassadors of EU countries about the content of the new package of sanctions against Russia.
It is reported by Politico.
According to its sources, the European Commission informed the EU ambassadors on Wednesday that it would invite them to private briefings on the planned content of the package.
During these meetings, the European Commission usually informs the ambassadors in small groups about what to expect, while the envoys can point out their governments' red lines.
As a reminder, the European Commission and EU countries are preparing the next round of sanctions against Russia this week, and Germany has demanded that the nuclear industry be included.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen previously stated that the next package will be aimed at fighting sanctions circumvention and eliminating loopholes.
