Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he does not yet consider Sweden ready to join the North Atlantic Alliance.
He said this in an interview with CNN.
"As long as Sweden allows branches of terrorist organizations in Turkey to roam freely in Sweden and on the streets of Stockholm, we cannot positively assess Sweden's membership in NATO," the Turkish president said.
"We are not ready for Sweden (as a NATO member - Ed.) at the moment. Because a NATO country should have a strong position when it comes to fighting terrorism," he added.
