Representatives of the G7 countries met with partners on Tuesday to discuss further support for Ukraine's energy sector, which is suffering from Russian shelling.

The U.S. State Department said so, according to European Pravda.

The meeting, which was led by U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi, discussed ongoing efforts to accelerate the supply of energy equipment to Ukraine.

It added that Blinken separately noted the firm commitment of the United States to support Ukraine for as long as necessary.
