Germany urged its citizens not to travel to Russia in the near future

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany advises its citizens not to travel to the Russian Federation in the coming week.

This was stated in a message on the website of the German Foreign Ministry.

"Travel to the Russian Federation is not recommended. Caution against travel to administrative regions bordering Ukraine (Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, Rostov, Krasnodar). February 20-26, 2023, the Russian government plans a number of activities," reads the statement.

The Foreign Ministry also reminded that citizens with dual citizenship should remember that Russian authorities consider them only as Russian citizens. "This also applies to possible conscription into the Russian armed forces. The embassy cannot provide them with consular protection," the statement said.

The Foreign Ministry also reminds us that the use of German credit cards, and hence the withdrawal of cash from ATMs, is impossible in the Russian Federation. Money transfers of any kind from the EU to the Russian Federation are impossible.
