The Israeli military is ready to resume hostilities in the Gaza Strip if the ceasefire agreement with Hamas is not extended for another day.

This was stated by IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, RBC-Ukraine reports citing The Times of Israel.

"The IDF is ready to resume hostilities. We are ready to attack at any time, including tonight," he said.

Hagari added that the IDF expects additional hostages to be released.

"We are now moving forward and expecting the release of additional hostages who are to return as part of the agreed deal," he said.

According to him, at night the IDF "insisted" on the implementation of the current agreement with Hamas, under which the terrorist group must release women and children held hostage.

"We will do this tomorrow as well. The mediators, Qatar and Egypt, are also obliged to implement the agreement so that the ceasefire can continue," Haghari said.
