Kuleba explains why Russia is shelling Ukrainian ports

Jul 25, 2023

By shelling Ukrainian ports and provoking a further aggravation of the food crisis, Russia is pursuing its own enrichment to obtain funds for its military machine.

This was stated by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with France24.

"Russia's goal is to provoke a further global food crisis, to export its own grain without any obstacles, and to benefit from it. They want to make as much money as possible," Kuleba said.

According to him, the problem with this strategy is that the people of Ukraine and Africa will have to pay for it.

"Because our grain is not exported, our infrastructure is being destroyed, and ordinary people across Africa will have to pay more for bread and other food because of rising food prices," the minister said.

"And Russia will line its pockets with money to finance its war machine at the expense of Africa. This is what is happening," Kuleba added.
