Lithuania is to rehabilitate over thousand war-affected Ukrainians

Lithuania is ready to accept 400 Ukrainians for treatment and provide rehabilitation for 1200 of our citizens who have suffered from the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratyuk, according to the official's Facebook page.

"The Lithuanian medical system is ready to accept more Ukrainians and satisfy all applications for rehabilitation. We discussed this with Lithuanian Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys at a meeting in Vilnius," she said.

Kontratiuk also said that the Lithuanian Ministry of Health and the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs plan to implement a project to establish rehabilitation centers in Ukraine.

The Vice Speaker thanked Lithuania for accepting Ukrainians, veterans and women veterans for treatment and rehabilitation. According to her, in 2023, 81 Ukrainians who suffered from the armed aggression of the Russian Federation underwent rehabilitation in the country's medical institutions.

"Further treatment is planned for 400 people and rehabilitation for 1200 people," Kondratiuk said.

She emphasized that Ukraine needs Lithuania's support in training more rehabilitation specialists and developing psychological support programs, especially for children.

"Every life saved is an important step towards Ukraine's victory in the war. The assistance provided by the Lithuanian Ministry of Health brings us closer to this day," said the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
