NATO allies have agreed to provide military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 40 billion euros next year.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Reuters.

A Western European diplomat told the agency that the leaders of the alliance will sign this commitment next week during a summit in Washington.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg asked member states to maintain military assistance to Ukraine at the same level as in the years after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 - at about 40 billion euros a year.

Bloomberg reported that some NATO member states were unwilling to commit to specific multi-year spending on military assistance to Ukraine.

It was expected that they would be able to conclude an agreement if the 40 billion euros of aid to Ukraine were attributed to NATO's existing commitment to spend at least 2% of GDP on defense.
