The Netherlands will allocate 260 million euros ($280.2 million) for the purchase of 155mm caliber artillery ammunition for Ukraine.
This is reported with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands.
The Ministry of Defense also recalled that the Netherlands continues to actively work on the training of Ukrainian soldiers, which takes place thanks to the EU training mission. As of today, 15.2 thousand fighters have already been trained.
It is noted that during the meeting of defense ministers in Brussels they also discussed the proposal of European Commissioner Thierry Breton, which is to allocate 500 million euros (538.8 million dollars) from the EU budget to increase the capacity of the defense industry.
The respective measures are necessary to provide military support to Ukraine and rebuild the stockpiles of EU member states.
