This was stated by the President of the European Council Charles Michel, RBC-Ukraine reports citing his Twitter account.

President of the European Council Charles Michel criticized Trump's statements that he would "encourage" Russia to aggress against NATO.

Michel emphasized that reckless statements about NATO's security and solidarity with Article 5 serve only the interests of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The President of the European Council added that the Transatlantic Alliance has been supporting the security and prosperity of Americans, Canadians, and Europeans for 75 years.

"Reckless statements about NATO's security and Article 5 solidarity only serve Putin's interests. They do not bring more security or peace to the world," he wrote.
