Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov held talks with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. They discussed the rebellion of the head of the Wagner PMC Yevheny Prigozhin in Russia and the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
This is reported with reference to Reznikov on Twitter.
"[I] Had a phone conversation with my friend and colleague Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III.
We talked about recent events in Russia," the minister said.
He noted that he and Austin agree that the Russian government is weak and that withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine is the best choice for the Kremlin at this time.
"Russia would be better served to address its own issues," Reznikov emphasized.
The defense minister also said that during the talks the issue of the Ukrainian counteroffensive was discussed.
"We also discussed the AFU’s counteroffensive and the next steps in strengthening our Defense Forces. Things are moving in the right direction. Ukraine will win," the minister emphasized.-
